Day 53: Winter Snow Camping and Igloo Building

Day 53: Snow CampingAttend an introductory Winter Snow Camping educational session tonight and learn the skills needed for overnight winter camping, including basic survival techniques and avalanche safety training. After attending this 3-hour classroom session, you will be eligible for the field session they have scheduled for this weekend. The actual location is determined only a few days prior to the course start, and is typically in the backcountry behind Mount Seymour, Coquihalla summit region, Diamond Head in Garibaldi Park or the backcountry behind Whistler or Blackcomb mountains. If you’ve always wanted to head into the backcountry for a true outdoor adventure, this is a great way to test the waters prior to investing in all of the gear required for such a mission!
