Day 41: La Clemenza di Tito

Day 41: La Clemenza di TitoVancouver Opera presents La Clemenza di Tito at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Composed during the last months of Mozart’s life, La Clemenza di Tito tells the story of Vitellia, daughter of the deposed Emperor, who conspires to have the current Emperor Titus assassinated because he passed her over as his wife. The assassination attempt fails. Vitellia marries Titus and then confesses to the crime. Their marriage does not cause Titus to waiver from his principles and he charges her along with the assassin. The show closes February 12th so get your tickets now before it’s too late!
